Hello, my name is Shelley Ornelas, (aka Skittles) I have a daughter who plays on the 98′s. I Love the game of soccer! I played soccer when I was younger and was actually a pretty good little forward (right wing as we called it).

I am a native Las Vegan! Yes, I am rare; you don’t find many of us around anymore, but actually I do know quite a few. I’m married to my wonderful husband Sam and we have 2 beautiful children.

I manage an orthodontic office in North Las Vegas; Aloha Orthodontics. I have been in the field for almost 15 years now and love it!!

Parents and players will tell you it’s not hard not to find me. I am the biggest and “loudest” cheerleader there is for the Raptors! I am also the team manager for our 98′s.

In my spare time I love to be on the soccer field and of course, spend time with my family!!

I grew up in Las Vegas and have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old.

I played for a few teams here in town including Tabagators, Heat and Jammers and I was able to win state 6 times in a row with those teams. I went to Regionals all 6 years and have been able to travel all over the country playing in various tournaments and I was able to play in a few WPSL games when the Tabagators were a team in that league. I played soccer at Palo Verde all 4 years where we won the State Championship my senior year and we were runner-ups my sophmore and junior year. I was chosen for the Sunset Regional team my Junior and Senior year. We won the regional championships those 3 years and I was able to be on the All-Southern Nevada and All-Northwest region teams my junior and senior year. Along with those awards I was a scholar athlete, athlete of the month and defensive player of the year my sophomore, junior and senior year and I was also co-captain my senior year. I went on and got a soccer scholarship at Southern Utah University and I am currently at UNLV where I am majoring in Recreating and Sports Management. I love soccer very much and I am so grateful to be part of this club where I am constantly learning and growing as a coach.

I have been playing soccer since 1980, with my father coaching me since the age of 5. I played at every military installation that my father was stationed at. During High School I spent 2 years playing with small clubs in Germany. I joined the United States Air Force in 1993, and played for the Base Soccer teams at Nellis AFB and Osan AFB Korea. I began

coaching for North Las Vegas Soccer League in 2000. I coached for NYS in 2005-2008. I joined the Red Rock Raptors as an Assistant Coach in 2009 and now Head Coach of the U12 Team.
